NOT for printers with HP+ program or HP instant ink program or after HP+ instant ink program.   HP+ instant ink activated printers require the use of Original HP Ink or Toner to operate even after the expiration of the Instant Ink program.   Or you can call HP to check if you are forced to use expensive HP original ink cartridges. 

For HP OfficeJet Pro printers,  a customer can choose to skip HP+ trial activation during printer setup to save $$$.

Please check:  When you installed the printer at first time and run set up with the printer, if you did not connect it to the internet and skip the activate of the instant ink problem.   That means NOT activiated.    You can use this cartridge.   

 If you did activate it, even if  you unsubscribed the instant ink program later, the HP+ printer will not allow you to use the non-HP ink cartridges.   

You can call HP support line and tell them the serial number of the printer to ask them to check if the printer has been activated or subscribed to with HP+ instant ink monthly service before (even after/opt-out the HP+ instant ink now)
